MISS NEW ZEALAND
Sir, —There is very general interest in the candidates for the Miss New Zealand contest, and it is to be hoped hat a very suitable young lady is chosen. Certain standards should be demanded and I should be very sorry’ if Miss New Zealand had artificial dentures or even many fillings in her teeth. We don’t want to be represented by what a farmer would call “a failing mouth ewe.”—Yours, etc., JOHN BLUNT. August 21, 1947.
