THREE MEN ASSAULT TAXI-DRIVER
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. August 22. Hit repeatedly with a tyre-lever, a taxi-driver who fought three men in his car in Maida Vale road last night received injuries necessitating eight stitches in a cut on his forehead, and two stitches on the back of his left hand. When the assailants attempted to escape the driver chased one down the road brought him down with a flying tackle, and held him until the police arrived. Two men were charged in the Magis trate’s Court to-day, and were remanded. A third arrest has been made. ________________
