ESTATE IN CHILE

BEQUEST TO WHANGAREI WOMAN (P.A.) WHANGAREI, July 30. A Chilean estate, complete with a mansion capable of accommodating between 60 and 80 guests, with 20 acres of grounds, and a large farming property, has been left to a Whangarei resident, Mrs Jeff. The value of the bequest is not yet known, but it is expected to run into a very substantial figure.

Although she had not seen her for 29 years, Mrs Jeff had corresponded regularly with her sister, but about five months ago her sister died. Mrs Jeff met her husband nearly 30 years ago at Trupan, where he was a civil engineer, being engaged in the construction of a railway from Trupan to Buenos Aires. After their marriage they came to New Zealand, living at Auckland, Dargaville, and for the last 14 years at Whangarei. They have eight children, seven of whom are married and living in New Zealand. Last year Mr Jeff retired from the Public Works Department. He had, been engaged in engineering for 51 years.
