BIG STUDENTS’ MEETING DECIDES TO PROTEST

p.m.) SYDNEY. July 29. A meeting jjf more than 1000 students of Sydney University carried a resolution expressing grave concern at methods said to have been used by the police in subduing the demonstration outside the Netherlands Consulate last Friday. Among the speaker? were Professor A. K. Stout, professor of political and moral philosophy, and Professor O’Neill, professor of psychology. The meeting decided to send a delegation to present the' resolution and any evidence available to the Premier (Mr James McGirr), the Minister of Justice (Mr R. R. Downing), the Attorney-General (Mr C. E. Mar- i tin). and the Chief Secretary (Mr J. | M. Baddeley). The chairman (the Rev. Ralph Sutton) said the meeting was not being held to discuss the Indonesian question, but was concerned purely with civil liberty.
