Dutch military operations against the Indonesians are expected to end in about a week,” says the Netherlands News Agency. “It is believed that the Dutch Ambassador to India (Mr Arnold Lamping), who left for New Delhi on July 25, may get in touch with the Indonesian envoy (Sutan Sjahrir). “A spokesman for the Dutch Ministry of Overseas Territories said that Sjahrir would be welcome in Holland.”
