SIR APIRANA NGATA’S PREDICTION
(PJL) WELLINGTON. July 28. A prediction that the Maori population would be more than 600.000 in another 50 years, with the time fast approaching when New Zealand would be the centre of the Polyi esian population, was made by Sir Apirana Ngata when he opened a campaign for a Maori community centre last night. “If you have any doubts as to the accuracy of that statement you have only to go to Auckland to see what is happening there even now.” he said.
