MURPHY TO CLAIM MORE DAMAGES
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 27. “These gentry know perfectly well that it is the Courts of this country and' not themselves that will decide on my guilt or innocence,” said Bos Murphy in a statement commenting on the New Zealand Boxing Council’s decision to revoke his licence. “They were warned by my solicitor that they could not proceed with what they call their inquiry while my libel action was pending against them on the very same questions,” he said. “They have now chosen to publish a further defamatory statement about me. Therefore, I shall sue them for large damages. Up till now I would have been content merely to see my character cleared without troubling about money. So I only sued them for nominal damages. Now they have asked for it, and now they are going to get it.”
