TELEGRAPHIC MATCH WITH OTAGO The annual telegraphic chess match between Canterbury and Otago was played on Saturday Play commenced at 1.15 p.m. and continued to 10.£0 p.m. with an interval for tea. Of the 20 games played, 10 were finished; the other 10, if the captains cannot agree, will be sent to Auckland for adjudication. Otago won 5J of the games completed, and Canterbury 4J. Results of the games completed were as follows (Canterbury names first): —W. M. Stewart beat J. F Lang. R. J. Colthart lost to W. G. Stenhouse. L. J. Darwin (captain) lost to A. J. Webb, J. H. Woolley lost to R. C. Glass, Mrs A. Golding beat C. A. Aherne, the Rev. C. G. Flood lost to A. G. Ward. G. H. Atkinson and L. D Coombs drew, Miss A. Wellard-King lost to J. J. Marlow, the Rev. N. Friberg beat B. Mannnagan, and W. H. Hughes beat J. Lang, jun.
