END OF SOUTH ISLAND TOUR
Viscount Montgomery At Blenheim
ROUSING WELCOME GIVEN AT WESTPORT
Field-Marshal Viscount Montgomery ended the official part of his South Island tour yesterday when he attended receptions at Westport, Nelson, and Blenheim. He spent last night at Blenheim and will leave by air this morning for New Plymouth.
Lord Montgomery was welcomed as enthusiastically yesterday as he has been on the whole of his South Island tour, and his friendliness won him new admirers among the large crowds at the centres he visited.
He travelled by car from Greymouth to Westport yesterday morning, and by air from Westport to Nelson and from Nelson to Blenheim in the afternoon.
