A.A.C. Membership.— Since August 1, 1946, 2784 new members have been elected to the Automobile Association (Canterbury), an increase of 905 on the corresponding total last year. Members who, having completed 20 years’ membership, qualify for honorary life membership total 164. The total membership of the association is 14,850. Play-writing Competition.— The British Drama League’s one-act play-writ-ing competition has been won jointly by Miss Mary Melville, of Auckland, and Mrs Audrey King, of New Plymouth. The results were announced last night at the league’s annual festival in Wellington.—(P.A.)
