STOCK EXCHANGES GOOD TURNOVER There was a good volume of business on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday, with price levels generally well maintained. Recorded dealings registered almost an equal number of gains and losses. Industrial leaders were firm. The outstanding feature of the call was the sharp drop in Macduffs to dealings at 43s Gd, a drop of 2s 6d. Woolworths, Ltd., were steady at 24s 8d on a small turnover and Goldsbrough Mort, rights, were fractionally firmer at 10s 3d, while Goldsbrough Mort remained unaltered at 325. Bruce Woollens scored a rise of Is 6d at 49s 6d and Kaiapoi Woollens recovered most of their lost ground with a late sale on Wednesday at 29s lOd, with further buyers yesterday at 29s 9d—no sellers. New Zealand Refrigerating, fully paid, eased 6d to sales at 38s 6d, and New Zealand Breweries 3d in their dealings at 57s 9d. DOMINION TRANSACTIONS CHRISTCHURCH
