Local Body Pensions
An amendment to the National Provident Fund Act made last session extends to permanent employees of all local authorities the opportunity of contributing to the fund for superannuation purposes. The Minister in charge of the National Provident Fund (Mr A. H. Nordmeyer) said last evening that all contributing local authorities had been advised of the new terms and conditions and notices would also be dispatched to local authorities not yet* contributing. Local authorities would not be able to offer, and employees to accept, positions anywhere in New Zealand without loss of accrued pension rights.—(P.A.)
