WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
Canterbury Centre.— Mrs Mclntosh presided over the monthly meeting of the Canterbury Centre of Women’s Institutes. Members of the Burwood Women’s Institute presented a short play. The winner of the cake competition..was A. Hawes. Winners of other competitions were Mesdames Jenkins, Ashby. Jamieson, Keen, Robson, Champion, and Tomlinson. It was reported that the drama circle was working hard preparing for the festival which is to be held in October.
