AMENDMENT TO FAIR RENTS ACT SUGGESTED (From Our Reporter.) WELLINGTON, July 22. A request to the Minister of Education (Mr H. G. R. Mason) to consider introducing legislation this session to exempt rural school houses from the provisions of the Fair Rents Act was contained in a notice of question given in the House of Representatives to-day by Mr D. C. Kidd (Opposition, Waimate). Mr Kidd claimed that many country schools were unable to obtain married male teachers because school houses were occupied by tenants who were protected by the Fair Rents Act.
