19 BARONETCIES UNCLAIMED
HEIRS RELUCTANT TO PROVE SUCCESSION (Rec 11 p.m.) LONDON, May 8. Nineteen British baronetcies are unclaimed because the heirs are reluctant to prove their succession. This is disclosed in the 1947 edition of “Debrett,” published yesterday. Tn some cases all efforts to persuade the heirs to substantiate their claims have failed. Some are believed to be holding back for fear of being , involved in heavy expenses, but “Debrett” points out that no fees are paid on succession to a baronetcy.
