OLYMPIC GAMES NOMINATIONS (P.A.) WELLINGTON. May ?. First in the field with a list of pros, pects for the Olympic Games, to be held in London next August, is the New land Amateur Athletic Association. After making an examination of overseas per. formances, Messrs J. W. Holley and a C. Kitto have recommended for the con. sideration of the management committS the names of five track men who. at hSet can be regarded as possibilities. In order of merit they are:— <l> D. M. Harris, West Coast, North Island, middle distance runner. (2) J. C. Grierson. Auckland, middle distance runner. (3) W. H. Nelson, Otago, distance run. J. M. Holland, Auckland, 440 yards (5) D. R. Batten, Canterbury, sprinter An application from the Auckland centre to conduct the New Zealand cross, country championships on August 18 was approved. The 1948 senior track and field chain, pionships were allocated to Otago, and - will be held in Dunedin on March 5 and ENGLISH “COLIBRI” LIGHTERS with wind shield Nickel-Plated.
