ANNUAL~REPORT A comprehensive programme of useful work has been carried out during the last year, by . the Christchurcl branch of the .National Council of )Vomen and recorded ip the annual report to be presented at the annual ’’Memters Imve interested themselves in such maUers hs'education and recreation, food production and distribution, health and nutrition, -.file branch has been represented oh the Workers’ Educational Association, CORSO, and the Egg Floor, and its oversews Y«li«f committee organised a very successful -appeal for food and clotbingfcfbr Britain* A special committee helped with the obstetric and gynaecological appeal, and a group known as “Friends of the Hospital“ supplied domestic and nursingr aids at the Public' Hospital and subsidiary . institutions, formed a weekly sewing, circle to help with necessary sewing.at the hospitals, and provided gifts tor patients in the hospitals and sanatorium. Another group —the Mental Welfare Trust Committee—provided invalid chairs and a spinal chair for patients at the Sunny* side Mental Hospital, spent £l2O on reconditioning the tennis court, and provided comforts and material for occupational work for the patients at Sunnyside and the Templeton Farm School. The report notes that the number of delegates is 86 and that there are 55 organisations affiliated to the branch and 61 associate members.
