KUSS AND HENRY DRAW AN ENTERTAINING BOUT Jim Henry, 18st 31b. a substitute for Jim Wright, and Otto Kuss, 17st 31b, wrestled to a draw at the Civic Theatre last evening after the scheduled eight rounds had been completed. The bout, marked by a good deal of showmanship, showed both wrestlers to be remarkably agile for their weight and size. Henry, who appeared to be carrying a good deal of surplus condition, attained his object soon after he entered the ring when almost unanimously he was voted the “villain” of the niece The bout had not been in progress many seconds before Henry advanced in threatening manner on the referee and his temper was not improved when the quicker-moving Kuss caught him in a headlock and threw him heavily The second round was full of incident and each man in turn administered cuffs, knee jolts and rabbit ounches Henry was particularly active and a fall by means of a body press came after he had thrown in a few kidney punches For his success he was roundly hooted Kuss was limning when he commenced the third round but he weathered the storm and in the fourth round the referee was loudly cheered when he issued a warning to the gesticulating Henry Kuss exercised himself by rebounding from one side of the ring to the other, and Henry apneared quite willing to allow him to go on with his exercises When the men did come to holts Kuss threw his opponent w’th headlocks, and Henry appeared much exhausted when the gong -sounded for the end of the round In the fifth round Henry took Kuss by the hair, threw him through the ropes, and immediately repeated the performance.
