CZECH SENTENCED TO DEATH

The Czech People’s Court sentenced to death Augustin Preucil, aged 33, a former sergeant in the Czechoslovak Air Force, who. while serving as a flying instructor in Britain during the war. is said to have shot his Polish pupil and escaped with an aeroplane to Belgium. Preucil entered the Gestapo’s service as an informer whefi Germany occupied Czechoslovakia, then joined the Czechoslovak Air Force in Poland and Anally became a flying instructor in Britain. He betrayed his fellow Czech pilots in Britain and Belgian patriots who helped him when he landed iff Belgiurfi.
