A joint Dutch-Indonesian Govern-, ment communique says that agreement has been reached on economic problems, including the control of production, the return of estates to their rightful owners, and the establishment of a joint food pool. The agreement also provides for joint foreign currency arrangements and for measures to urge the lifting of the Australian port workers' boycott of Dutch ships. The communique added that disagreement on some points was delaying final arrangements, but a solution was now assured.

Suppressed pro-Republican newspapers in the Dutch area will be permitted to resume immediately, and the Republican Ministry of Information is permitted to open 10 branches in Dutch areas.
