NEW DEFINITION OF “ COLT ”

A new definition of a colt for the purposes of matches held by the Christchurch Bowling Centre was adopted oy the centre last evening on the' recommendation of the match committee of the centre. “Anyone who has played bowls prio to September 1 of the year before the .. °P enin B °f the current season, whether as a member oi a club or otherwise, win not be eligible to take part in the colts competitions of this centre m any season,” was the text of a motion parsed on the advice nf the match committee. Because of the lateness of the season, it had been decided to abandon the secretaries’ and treasurers’ tournament, stated a report presented by the match committee. The tournament hat been postponed last month because of wet weather. The president (Mr A. Clark), Messrs J. R Smith and R. H. Taylor were nominated as members of the New Zealand Bowling Council, nominations for which close on May 1. The election of two councillors to represent the centre will take place at a meeting of the centre in May. FENDALTON CLUB An all-day tournament, which marked the close of the season for the Fendalton Bowling Club, was won by J. Aingei <Sk J P A’, Si Cameron - S. L. Partridge and W. P. Glue.
