INQUEST OPENED
Evidence of identification was heard by the Coroner (Mr H. P. Lawry) on Sunday evening, when an inquest into the death of Desmond Rory O’ConneTl. aged 20. whose parents live at 2 Nelson street New Brighton, was opened. O’Connell, a fire watcher employed at the Eyrewell plantation, was found dead in his hut on Sunday afternoon. There was a gunshot wound on the body, and a rifle was found nearby. The Coroner ordered a post-mortem examination, and adjourned the inquest sine die.
