DELIVERY OF BEER TO HOTELS
USE OF UNDERGROUND PIPE SUGGESTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 20. A proposal for the bulk delivery of beer to hotels through pipes laid under footpaths, as recommended by the city engineer (Mr K. E. Luke), was discussed by the Wellingtqn City Council last night. Councillor E. R. Toop said he did not think he would fancy beer which had travelled in pipes for such a distance. He wondered how the pipes would be kept clean and would the beer be any cheaper? Councillor M. F. Luckie said it was done in other countries and would be done in Wellington in accordance with the health regulations.
