VICTORIA LEAGUE
ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY In the beautiful grounds at Lady Wigram’s home, Park terrace, on Sat-
urday. the Canterbury branch of the Victoria League held a very successful garden party at which the sum of £155 was realised. During the years of war, members of the league devoted their energies to sending food and clothing, particularly baby clothes, to Britain. Groups in different suburbs met regularly to knit and sew, with the result that the leagues contribution of warm garments to Britain was considerable. In recent months, members are giving much attention to the supply of food for Britain, and the last shipment was sent to Londoft just before Christmas. The proceeds from the party on Saturday will be used, for the most part, in sending further gifts of food to Britain. •
-The garden party was formally opened by Lady Wigram, who welcomed the visitors, and said she hoped they would enjoy the afternoon spent in the grounds at her home, where she has lived for more than 50 years. She
