CAUSES OF WAR
Sir,- —Your correspondent, A. E. E. Ivory, is quite correct in his theory about the revival of German Imperialism. Madariaga, in “Victors Beware,” blames the renewal of German strength, not upon the Nazis, but upon the army officer. He says: “The type of human being, which is the" core of German power, is not the Nazi, but the professional army officer. This human type must be uprooted from Europe.” —Yours, etc., WORLD WAR I. Rangiora, March. 8, 1947. [This correspondence may now cease. —Ed., “The Press.”!
