SYDNEY JOLKEYS.REINSTATED (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY. March 15. The committee of the Australian Jockey Club has decided to uphold the appeal of J. Eaves, the jockey, against his suspension for 12 months after an inquiry into the running of Craigie at Canterbury last month, but dismissed the appeal-of the trainer, G. Douch, and one for the horse Craigie. The disqualification followed the running of Craigie in the Frank Underwood Cup at Canterbury, when Craigie, who was an odds-on favourite, finished fourth in a field of six. No action was taken against the owners, Mrs M. and Miss B. Josephs. Craigie won the Sydney Cup in 1945. Athol George Mulley, Bemborough’s jockey, whose riding licence was suspended in December at the pleasure of the A.J.C. Committee, has been reinstated from March 28. Riccarton Rider Suspended An inquiry into the running of the Tinakori Hack Handicap, opened on the first day, in which A. J. Stokes, the rider of Revolte, was alleged to have interfered with Flare Path in the last furlong of the race, resulting in the latter losing his position, was reopened on Saturday. The judicial committee found Stokes guilty of careless riding, and he was suspended up to and including April 9.
