THE £10,000,000 GIFT
Sir,—Financial concessions to Britain at present have a psychological importance but are otherwise practically useless. We can help Britain by sending all the goods that we can produce and can be used or consumed there, and by doing without goods in return, so that Britain can export to other countries what we want here and so procure additional food and equipment with those exports until conditions improve. Financial concessions are marks on pieces of paper and worthless to hungry and homeless people.—Yours, etc., H. J. BUTTLE. Darfield, March 6, 1947.
