CONTAMINATION OF SEEDS
A statement that high-grade seeds which were found to be contaminated by Italian ryegrass after they had been planted by farmers in Canterbury had not been supplied bv the Department of Agriculture (as had I previously been reported) was made iby Mr J. W. Earl on Tuesday He said that the North Canterbury execuFarmers had decided, after hearing reports of contamination m seed-dressing machines, to ask the Department of Agriculture to ensure that seed-dressing should in future conform with suitable regulations to avoid this defect.
