Chinese Ban on Wooden The Navigation Bureau has banned further transportation of passengers in steamers with wooden huus, following the sinking of the wooden steamer Chikia ng, with heavy loss of life* Bureau officials said the Chikiang’s capacity was 300, but she carried mor* than 1000.—Shanghai, January 20.
