HANDICAP SINGLES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, January 21. The New Zealand croquet championships at Lower Hutt were started to-day with the handicap singles, which were played throughout the day. ANNUAL MEETING OF COUNCIL
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, January 21. A suggestion that the date of the next annual Dominion croquet tournament at Dunedin should coincide with that of the Dominion bowls tournament, was referred to the executive at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Croquet Council to-day. Officers elected were:—president, Mr R. W. McCreath (Gore); vice-presidents. Mesdames T. Macdonald (Auckland) and S. J. Parkes (Palmerston North), Mr Kirk (Geraldine): New Zealand handicapper, Mrs C. Watkins (Hastings): New Zealand referee. Mr A. G. F. Ross (Rangiwahia); editor-manager, Mrs E. McKenzie (Wellington); secretary-treasurer, Mrs W. S. Austin (Wellington).
