DO YOU KNOW? Sunnyside Mental Hospital is the present home of 1500 adults. There are also 300 children at Templeton. Although provided with every possible care and expert attention, these sick patients, by force of circumstance, lack most of the good things of life and great joy is derived from any additional comforts in the way of gifts and outings, etc. The Christchurch Mental Welfare Society, a small band of ardent workers, has been behind the scenes in providing many of these comforts, including the after care of discharged patients, and through the generosity of a few much pleasure has been brought to many. The Mental Welfare Society’s ambition is to provide a seaside holiday home for the patients of these Mental Hospitals. This, it is certain, will greatly assist in their ultimate recovery. Realising that their limited available resources are not sufficient, the society makes this appeal to you to give your support to this very worthy object. By means of a street appeal which will be held on Wednesday. January 29, those in the city will be given an opportunity to subscribe. However, this is not enough. £lOOO is the most that can be expected from a street appeal, and £3OOO is the sum required to achieve their objective. Will you help by sending a donation to Mr F.
