“DENIAL OF RIGHTS HAS NOT CEASED*” (Rec. 7 p.m.) VATICAN CITY, Jan. 19. “The Americans, when they generously assisted war victims, little thought that the food and clothing they shipped would in some countries be tagged with the price of adherence to a political party/’ said the Pope, addressing 10 American newspaper editors who are touring the Continent. The Pope added: “The denial of men’s civil and religious rights has not ceased, and the ruthless persecution of men’s consciences has not abated.” JUGOSLAVS DETAIN BISHOP (Rec.-7 p.m.) VATICAN CITY, Jan. 20 The Vatican News Agency, Ansa, says that Monsignor Radossi, Bishop of Istria, has returned to his see after being detained by the Jugoslav authorities. The bishop said he was detained on January 15 at a Jugoslav road block eight miles north or Pola. The Vatican News Agency earlier reported that the Jugoslavs had arrested Monsignor Radossi in the Venezia Giulia area on January 15, and had taken him to Fiume.
