HOLIDAY VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND

ADMIRAL JLORD TOVEY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, January 20. “My visit is entirely unofficial and not connected with naval business,” said Admiral of the Fleet Lord Tovey, who arrived ■in Wellington to-day from Sydney, accompanied by Lady Tovey. They were met at the wharf by representatives of the GovernorGeneral (Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Freyberg) and the Royal New Zealand Navy. “I have some nephews and nieces in your islands, and I am looking forward to visiting them.” said Lord Tovey, who added that he expected to stay in New Zealand for three months.

Lord Tovey indicated that he preferred not to talk “shop.” Of the engagements with which he had been concerned his only comment was “Not an awful lot.”

He had spent about eight weeks in Australia, and before that four months in South Africa, and he thoroughly enjoyed the change from his duties during the war.
