BRITISH FOREIGN POLICY
FRIENDSHIP TREATY “RENOUNCED”
MOSCOW NEWSPAPER’S COMMENT
(Rec. 1.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 15. The Moscow newspaper “Pravda’* declared that the British Foreign Secretary, Mr Bevin, had “renounced” the twenty-year friendship treaty between Britain and Russia. Mr Bevin’s foreign policv, the newspaper said, did not include a consistent line of co-operation and friendship, not only with the United States but also with Russia, which evoked doubt and anxiety in the minds of many ordinary men in Britain.
