AN EXCURSION TO ALAMEIN.—Excursions to Alamein and the surrounding North African battlefields are now popular. Luxury motor-coaches make the journey from Alexandria in about three hours, and guides are provided to give descriptions of the battles which led to the downfall of Rommel at the hands of Montgomery. TOP: A party of tourists stops for breakfast at Borg el Arab, on the way to Alamein. BOTTOM: A dragoman, mounted on an abandoned tank, gives an account of a tank battle to the excursionists.
