MALAYAN FEDERATION PROPOSALS
TENTATIVE BRITISH APPROVAL (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON. January 14. The British Government has tentatively approved proposals for a new Malayan Constitution, establishing a nine-State Federation of Malaya, says Reuter’s Karachi correspondent. Mr Malcolm MacDonald. Governor-Gene-ral of Malaya, said: “Final decisions cannot be taken until representatives of the Chinese. Indian, and Eurasian communities in Malaya are consulted.”
