NEW LECTURER FOR LINCOLN COLLEGE

MR C. E. IVERSEN APPOINTED

Because of the increase in the number of students taking instruction, an additional appointment, that of senior lecturer in animal husbandry, has been made by the Canterbury Agricultural College Board of Governors. The appointment will be filled by Mr C. E. Iversen, who yesterday tendered his resignation as a member of the board. Mr Iversen has had a wide background of farming experience, in addition to holding agricultural and science appointments at several different secondary schools. He attended Canterbury Agricultural College in 1925-27, gaining his diploma and B.Ag. degree. In 1928-he took courses with the Department of Agriculture and at Canterbury University College, and in that year secured the degree of M.Ag. (hons.). The first appointment Mr Iversen received was as senior science and agriculture master at St. Andrew's College, filling that position from 1929 to 1932. From 1933 to 1936 he was agriculture master at Napier Boys’ High and during this period was supervisor of the school farm of 150 acres. In 1936 he was appointed agriculture master at Christchurch Technical College, a position which he held until last year, with the exception of three years on war service, including 18 months in the Solomons.

Mr Iversen is keenly interested in Rugby football, and in 1940 and 1946 \yas the Christchurch secondary schools’ representative on the Canterbury Rugby Union.
