MILLBROOK RESERVE
CITY COUNCIL TO BE GIVEN CONTROL
The Lands and Survey Department proposes to vest control of the Millbrook Reserve in the Christchurch City Council, in spite of the disapproval of the Waimairi County Council, which, at its last meeting, advocated that the Fendalton Domains Board should control the reserve. The Lands and Survey Department has written to the City Council stating that it is proposed to recommend the vesting of control of Millbrook in the Christchurch City and Suburban Domains Board (whien is the council), and that steps are being taken to give effect to this proposal. In the meantime, the department has asked the City Council to keep the reserve in good order and condition. The department is prepared to meet the costs incurred on this up tc the date of the council assuming control, limited to not more than two man-days a week. The council’s staff has already begun work at Millbrook.
