ACCIDENTS
CARS COLLIDE AT ASHBURTON Only one person suffered slightly from shock when two cars collided at the Moore street intersection in East street, Ashburton, late on Sunday afternoon. One car. which was travelling west along Moore street, was driven by D. T. Clement, of 104 Alford Forest road. Ashburton, and contained four passengers. The othei vehicle, driven by D. Serimgeour, ot 17 Warrington street. St. Albans. Christchurch. was going north along East street, and contained four persons. Mrs E. Olli ver, of 79 Carlton Mill road. Christchurch, a passenger in Mr Scrimgeour’s car, suffered slightly from shock, but she was able to continue her journey after medical attention. Both cars were damaged and had to be towed from the scene. CHILD’S DEATH FROM INJURIES (P.A.) OAMARU, January 13. Garry Thomas Irvine, the seven-year-old son of Mr Thomas Irvine, of Herbert, died in the Oamaru Hospital last night as the result of injuries received when he was struck by a car on Friday morning. •
