ILLITERACY IN BOMBAY
10 YEAR EDUCATION PROGRAMME
(Rec. 8 p.m.) BOMBAY, Jan. 13. “The Government of Bombay has sanctioned a 10-year plan for liquidatihg adUlt illiteracy,” says the Bombay correspondent of “The Times.” “The Bombay plan embraces 900 literacy classes and 200 post-literacy clashes. It is estimated that when the 10-year programme is completed 75 per cent, of the city’s population, including children, will be literate.”
