SENTENCED IN SPAIN
FOUR REPUBLICANS TO BE IMPRISONED
LONDON, January 12. A Spanish military court has sentenced four Republicans, whose, trial on charges of plotting against the Franco Government began on January 9 after they had been held for two years in prison. The court sentenced a priest, Regulo Martinez Sanchez, to six years’ imprisonment. He told the court that he had been tortured during his earlier imprisonment. The court imposed a sentence of four years’ imprisonment on Colonel Adolfg Prada, who ordered the surrender of the Republican troops in Madrid in 1939. and the same sentence on a Socialist Juan Gome Edige and an Anarchist. Sigfrido Catala. The court received a letter from a Monarchist. General Aranda, protestmz against attempts tn link him in his absence with an anti-Franco plot. General Aranda, just before the trial began, was exiled to Majorca.
