TRAP SHOOTING
CHRISTCHURCH GUN CLUB The Christchurch Gun Club held a Christmas shoot at its grounds at Sockburn on Saturday, December 14, there being three clay pigeon matches held, each of 10 birds, which were shot off over two traps Eighty-four shooters took part and there were a large number of visitors. Twenty were awarded for each match, there being a shoot off for those tying with the best score, and a draw for others who were eligible to receive a prize Prize-winners for the best scores in each match were as follows: No. 1 Match.—F. E. Kelly 1. R. Whitham 2. E Hammond 3. H. Cromle 4, C. N Powell 5, C. R Ogier 6. J. F. Parker 7. No. 2 Match.—D. W. Davison 1, R. Baker 2, C. N. Powell 3, W. M Holland 4, L. Gabble 5 W A Lewis 6. A A Greenwood 7 No. 3 Match.—F E. Kelly 1, A. A Greenwood 2. F W Breading 3. P. Washbourne 4 J. F Parkin 5. Special prizes were awarded for the shooter with the best aggregate score over the three matches and also for the run-ner-up these being won by F. E Kellv and A A. Greenwood respectively A A Greenwood also secured a special prize for the best first barrel aggregate. Messrs L. A. Shand and A. Prestney were referees.
