RAW MATERIALS FOR GERMANY
IMPORTS FOR BRITISH AND U.S. ZONES
ACTION UNDER ECONOMIC AGREEMENT
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 16. The British and American military governments have authorised the importation cf £1,937,500 worth of raw materials into their economically merged zones, says the Berlin correspondent of the Associated Press.
This is the first major joint action taken under the bizonal finance arrangement designed to raise dollar credits through exports to help pay the costs of the occupation.
The materials to be bought in the present transaction are expected to produce goods for export worth three times the cost of the materials.
