INCREASE NEEDED IN 1947

The Secretary of Agriculture (Mr Clinton P. Anderson) has recommended the adoption of record production goals in 1947 for cattle, pigs, cotton, flax, dry beans, rye. and barley to meet increased domestic and export demands and rebuild reserves. Mr Anderson’s meat programme provides for a domestic consumption of 1551 b a head in 1947. compared with 1451 b in 1946, and an average of 1261 b in 193539?
