A second depression is moving on to New Zealand from the west. Forecast to 5 p.m.: moderate to fresh south-westerly winds. Weather cloudy to overcast, with some scattered drizzle on the coast. Temperatures rather cold. Further outlook: still unsettled. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate northerly winds predominating. Weather cloudy, with some scattered rain developing, and becoming heavy at times. Temperatures rather cool. Further outlook: unsettled, with further rain.
