Legislation Against Tasmanian
Squatters.—Squatters in Tasmania can be forcibly ejected, fined £lOO, or sent to goal for six months, according to provisions in a bill passed by the House of Assembly. The Premier (Mr R. Cosgrove) said that the proposal was drastic but necessary. Lawlessness would not be permitted in 'Tasmania.—Hobart, September 20. N.Z.
