FOOD REACHES SCOTLAND
“MADE MOUTHS AND EYES WATER”
The Rev. J. S. Murray, of.-the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ashburton, has received advice that gift food collected by the members of the church and sent through the Famine Emergency Committee, with the request that it be sent to the Union Church, Clydebank, Glasgow, has arrived., Distribution is being made through the Gift Food Allocation Centre and the Minister of Union Church has been asked to. send the names of his people who need the food. His comment was: “The first lot has come to hand, and it made our mouths and our eyes The Christchurch FaminerEmergency Committee stated that this news will be of the greatest encouragement to all who have contributed to the appeal for gift food.
The packing depot in King Edward Barracks acknowledges receipt of gifts of tinned and packaged food from Red Cross Society branches at Hoon Hay, Oxford. United 'Bays, Pigeon Bay, and xiangiora. A large shipment will be leaving in the Taranaki this month for London. '
