TRIAL OF MAJOR COUSENS

(Rec. 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept It. Major Charles Cousens, who is charged with high treason, admitted to-day that two letters produced by the Grown might have been written by him. The Crown alleged that the letters accompanied presenta from Cousens to a Japanese, Miss Fouml Saisho, in Tokyo. Major Cousens admitted giving Saisho a handbag, violets, and American cigarettes. • Counsel said he did not want to sug§est that there was any impropriety In le relationship.
