LOWER GRADES

DRAW FOR FINALS Final arrangements for the completion of the lower grade football competitions were decided upon by the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last evening. The arrangements were:— Technical and Linwood would play to decide the winners of the senior reserve section on Saturday next; in second grade A, the winners of the section were Albion, who would meet Christchurch, the winners of section B, next Saturday, to decide the final of the grade as a whole; in the third grade, University A would meet Albion to decide the final; in the fourth grade. Technical Old Boys were the winners, and a Possibles v. Probables match would be -played on August 31; in the under 18 A, Albion, the winners of the section, would play Papanui Technical, winners, of the B section, in the final next Saturday; High School Old Boys were the Winners of the under 17 grade; and High School Old Boys were the winners of the under 16 grade. The winners and runners-up in the under-weight grades are:—under Bst 71b, Kaiapoi lli, Technical Old Boys B 10i; under 7st 71b, Technical Old Boys lli, Kaiapoi and Sydenham (equal) 11; under 6st 71b, Sydenham A lli, Marist 10; under sst 71b, Linwood B 10i, Merivale 10. The Post and Telegraph Department wrote stating that, because of a lack of equipment, .it would be impossible for some time to install a telephone at Rugby i Park.
