Alborn, Dundee Sandy has not won a race for the Addington trainer, and he may top off his list of minor placings at the National meeting. F. G. Young, Pirouette always had the edge on Pocket Edition and Deeside, in a useful trial over a mile and a half. Pirouette appears to be staying on better, and she may earn some of the money from the 24 yards mark in the Canterbury Three-year-dd Stakes on Saturday. Jottings The Gore trainer, A. J. Bromby, who is at present at Addington with Notus, also has the promising Oporo in his team. A six-year-old gelding by Quite Sure from All Sunshine, Oporo registered two Wins and four minor placings last season. Communique, an aged gelding by Grattan Loyal from Latest News, showed good form after joining F. P. Brosnan’s team last season to record five minor placings in eight starts, and if he races up to his best form he should pay his way at the National meeting. As Barometer Chimes and Imperial Grattan have been withdrawn, Ben Adam, which finished fast, after making up his handicap early, to win the Cheviot Cup, is the sole occupant of the scratch mark in the Islington Handicap on Saturday. Ribbon Again broke up in his heat at the matinee meeting and he would need to sijow a lot of improvement to have any chance in the Speedway Handicap on Saturday. Consistent Record

Hidden Note, which is trained by V Leeming, Prebbleton, locked in splendid condition when she paraded at the matinee meeting last week, and she gave an encouraging performance to finish in second place to Lee Berry after being handy to the leader all the way. Hidden Note an aged mare by Maxegin from Harvest Note, raced consistently last season to finish in the money in 12 of her 16 races. A solid trotter, she gave one of her best performances for the season at the Waikato Trotting Club’s meeting on March 30 where, after conceding starts of up to 144 yards in the Eureka Handicap, she outclassed her field to win by five lengths from Contraband. At her next appearance she stayed on well to win the Stewards Handicap from Casablanca at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Easter meeting and that form entitles her to consideration at the National meet-
